Home!!

On Sunday evening, July 21st, we arrived home with baby Tucker! The last two months have been an emotional and scary experience and we are overwhelmed to finally be home. Tucker is recovering well. He is on a regime of daily medicines and gets his oxygen saturations checked at least once a day. This week he begins getting his weight checked several times a week as well as alternating doctors appointments between the pediatrician and the pediatric cardiologist. We would love for everyone to meet Tucker, however due to strict doctors orders he is not allowed to have visitors for the next couple of weeks. We have to allow him time for healing and recovery before we subject him to the world of germs. We appreciate everyone’s kind words and prayers so much. Knowing we had a support group of family and friends really helped us stay strong through everything that Tucker has been through. I apologize for not updating the blog in a timely manner. Now that we’re home I will have a chance to catch up with it so everyone has an opportunity to read about what Tucker has been through. We are hoping to have a “Meet baby Tucker” get together some time in August and will let everyone know once we have more specifics. Again we really appreciate everyone’s support and hope that you will continue this journey with us through his next open heart surgery at around 4 to 6 months of age and then again between 3 to 5 years of age. Thank you.

  1. We are so happy that Tucker has been able to be at home. Our continued prayers, thoughts and love are being sent for you all. If you need anything please don’t hesitate to let us know. Our love and God’s blessings to each and everyone of you. Tucker, we love you and can’t wait to meet you.

  2. Congratulations! I am so happy for you. Have been thinking about you a lot. We met when Tucker was only one week old and shared the same room at Children’s for a night. I also saw you last week when we went in for our sons Glenn surgery (Lennart Runkel). Unfortunately I never found a good time to come chat with you guys. So happy that you got to go home. It is so much better at home even if it is a little scary at first to distribute all the meds without a nurse present – but I learned that you get used to almost everything. :o) Best, Claudia Runkel
