On Sunday evening, July 21st, we arrived home with baby Tucker! The last two months have been an emotional and scary experience and we are overwhelmed to finally be home. Tucker is recovering well. He is on a regime of daily medicines and gets his oxygen saturations checked at least once a day. This week he begins getting his weight checked several times a week as well as alternating doctors appointments between the pediatrician and the pediatric cardiologist. We would love for everyone to meet Tucker, however due to strict doctors orders he is not allowed to have visitors for the next couple of weeks. We have to allow him time for healing and recovery before we subject him to the world of germs. We appreciate everyone’s kind words and prayers so much. Knowing we had a support group of family and friends really helped us stay strong through everything that Tucker has been through. I apologize for not updating the blog in a timely manner. Now that we’re home I will have a chance to catch up with it so everyone has an opportunity to read about what Tucker has been through. We are hoping to have a “Meet baby Tucker” get together some time in August and will let everyone know once we have more specifics. Again we really appreciate everyone’s support and hope that you will continue this journey with us through his next open heart surgery at around 4 to 6 months of age and then again between 3 to 5 years of age. Thank you.

Open heart surgery

Tucker just went in for open heart surgery to install a BT shunt. The shunt will improve blood flow to his lungs which will increase his oxygen saturation level. He has been turning blue when he gets even the slightest bit upset because of his poor oxygen levels. Please pray for Tucker that surgery and recovery go well. I will post an update this evening. I have been working on posting info about the previous weeks but have been so busy with everything here. I will get them posted soon. Thank you for your continued support and prayers. It means so much to us.
